REAL AUTOGRAPHSThis is one of a kind. I will hold onto it indefinitely until I find someone who values it if need be. Such an incredibly cool find. I cant find a single one for sale online only one owned by a member of the 214. All signatures are original and this is print #4 of 750 made. This is a limited-edition lithograph created in 1992 to celebrate the 50th anniversary (1942-1992) of one of the most famous squadrons in Marine Corps history.VMF-214 "Swashbucklers" VMF-214 was first commissioned in 1942 during World War II, its original name and insignia were the "Swashbucklers."VMF-214 "Black Sheep" In August 1943, the squadron was reformed under the command of the legendary Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington. He assembled a group of unassigned pilots (some veterans, some new) and they adopted the new nickname "Black Sheep" to reflect their "misfit" status. They went on to become one of the most decorated and famous fighter squadrons of WWII.The print includes both patches to honor the squadron's entire 50-year history, from its original "Swashbuckler" roots to its famous "Black Sheep" identity. Some of the signature as follows:George Hollowell (45-46)
World War II hero. This is Major George L. Hollowell, a confirmed WWII Marine Fighter Ace credited with 8 aerial victories. He was also the Commanding Officer (CO) of VMF-214 from August 1945, taking command right at the end of the war. His signature is a direct link to the squadron's WWII roots.Jim Kunz (1957)
He served in 1957 when the squadron was re-designated VMF(AW)-214 (Marine All-Weather Fighter Squadron) and flew the F2H-4 Banshee. In February 1957, they became the first Marine squadron qualified for "special weapons" delivery (atomic bombs).R.J. Reed (70-71)
Lieutenant Colonel R.J. Reid, the squadron's Commanding Officer from February 1970.F. Newton (72-73)
Lieutenant Colonel D.F. Newton, the squadron's Commanding Officer from August 1972J. Underwood (78-79)
Lieutenant Colonel J.L. Underwood, the squadron's Commanding Officer from August 1978P.B. Wyrick (79-80)
Lieutenant Colonel P.B. Wyrick, the squadron's Commanding Officer from May 1979

Don C. Jewell (83-85)
Lieutenant Colonel J.D. Jewell, the squadron's Commanding Officer from December 198N.N. Kirby (85-87)
Lieutenant Colonel N.N. Kirby, the squadron's Commanding Officer from November 1985. The squadron transitioned to the AV-8B Harrier "jump jet" under his command, which is a major event in its history.I will ship this out of the frame which has been damaged. The print with the signatures is flawless and untouched and still matted.
