WWII Guadalcanal Signed Booklet "SO YOU ARE GOING TO THE SOUTH PACIFIC" 1942-3:
$49.00
We are offering this WWII period Booklet published by the Commander of the Air Pacific Fleet in 1943. On the cover is depicted a map of the Solomon Islands including Guadalcanal (the names of the island are written in by the owner of the book). His name is also inscribed in three places on the booklet : Odell, D.N. AMM2/c / VFM 221-223 /HENDERSON FIELD / USN/USMC / 1942. Since the booklet is dated 1943 and Serviceman Odell writes the date as "1942" in 2 places I think he was stationed at Henderson field during the battle for the island as an Aviation Machinist's Mate 2nd Class and wanted it known that he was there during the fighting of 1942. The book is filled with tips for surviving in the soon to be battle torn South Pacific. The booklet is 4 3/8" x 6" and has 25 pages.Stock Number SA2F-407
