XTC As The Dukes Of Stratosphear – 25 O'Clock LP 12" Vinyl Record - NEW For Sale

Originally released in 1985 under the psychedelic alter ego The Dukes of Stratosphear, 25 O’Clock is XTC’s affectionate and highly convincing tribute to late-’60s British psychedelia. Drawing inspiration from bands like The Beatles, The Small Faces, and The Electric Prunes, the record balances tongue-in-cheek homage with genuinely strong songwriting. What began as a playful side project quickly became a cult classic and an essential part of the XTC canon.

This 2019 Ape House reissue presents the mini-album exactly as intended, with rich analog warmth and period-appropriate textures restored in high-quality stereo.

🌈 Album Highlights

Pressed on heavyweight 200g vinyl and housed in a gatefold sleeve, this reissue emphasizes the dense production, swirling effects, and melodic inventiveness that define the Dukes’ sound. Tracks like “Bike Ride to the Moon” and “My Love Explodes” blur the line between parody and authenticity, while the title track “25 O’Clock” sets the tone with exuberant psychedelic pop.
