Product Overview
The TR-SHEW-JAZZ mouthpiece represents the culmination of Yamaha's partnership with acclaimed trumpeter Bobby Shew, incorporating decades of professional jazz performance experience into innovative mouthpiece design that addresses the specific demands of contemporary jazz trumpet playing. The fairly deep roomy cup provides optimal acoustic properties for warm, big sound production, while the standard cup depth with slightly larger diameter creates extra warmth and depth of tone that defines Bobby Shew's signature sound. The carefully engineered throat and backbore design delivers the "jump and snap" characteristics essential for navigating complex jazz passages with ease and musical expression.
The semi-thick rim with semi-round contour offers lasting comfort and stability during extended jazz performance sessions, while the 16.85mm diameter provides excellent balance between projection and control for both intimate club settings and large concert hall performance. The roomier throat (3.65mm) and standard backbore work in harmony to create optimal airflow characteristics that enable quick response and articulation essential for jazz improvisation and complex musical passages. This design represents Yamaha's commitment to quality and innovation, ensuring that each mouthpiece lights a fire of joy and passion in the player's heart.
Yamaha's gold standard manufacturing and strict quality control measures ensure that the TR-SHEW-JAZZ delivers consistent performance characteristics and reliable quality that serious jazz musicians require.
