Zombies of the Stratosphere Blu-ray - 1952, Brand New SealedNot high definition!!
Unlike Radar Men from the Moon and King of the Rocket Men I was not able to source high resolution materials for this popular series. There are occasional upscaling/interlace artifacts baked into the source and I have otherwise done my best to create a decent presentation here. I think it looks pretty good all things considered and its probably the best version currently available on physical media. I\'ve seen at least one other commercially available version and I believe this is a vast improvement. Please see the sample video and screenshots, they are taken directly from this blu-ray.
Zombies of the Stratosphere is another classic 12 part serial from the golden age of sci-fi! This time Martians are planning to blow the Earth out of its orbit with an H bomb so that Mars can take its more desirable orbital location. You know what they say in real estate; location, location, location! Fortunately for Earth, Larry Martin flies into action with his rocket pack to stop the dastardly Martians!Conspicuously absent from Zombies of the Stratosphere are... zombies (here the Martians are the \"zombies\"). This series predates The Last Man on Earth by over a decade, so zombies in the early 50s just weren\'t quite there yet.
One interesting note is that this series features an early appearance by Leonard Nimoy as one of the Martians!
