Beautiful antique Haviland & Co. Limoges, France porcelain service for four, featuring a delicate multicolor floral/wildflower garland with purple, pink, blue, yellow and orange blossoms accented by elegant gold trim.
This 17-piece set includes:

The pieces bear authentic Haviland France factory marks along with the red “Decorated by Haviland & Co. Limoges” decorator’s mark. These marks are associated with Haviland production from the late 19th into the early 20th century, making this service approximately 100 years old or more.
Haviland’s history in Limoges began in the 1840s when American businessman David Haviland established porcelain production in Limoges, France. Haviland became especially important to the American market, producing fine French porcelain decorated in an enormous variety of floral designs. Many Haviland patterns from this period were not originally given conventional pattern names. Collectors later cataloged thousands of the decorations using Schleiger numbers, named for the identification system developed by Arlene Schleiger.
The exact Schleiger/pattern number of this floral decoration is currently unknown, so no specific Schleiger number is being attributed to the set. The combination of the Haviland factory and decorator marks, however, identifies the maker as Haviland & Co., Limoges, France.
The covered sugar bowl is particularly attractive, with ornate gilded handles, gold finial and matching floral decoration.
