Antique 1890s Iris pattern tea spoon by William B Durgin Co. for Shreve & Co. SF, Art Nouveau floral pattern on front and back of handle, engraved on back of spoon bowl: "USS Monterey". From the US Navy monitor ship USS Monterey in operation from 1891 to 1921. Marked on back of handle with a "D" for Durgin and Sterling near bowl, and Shreve & Co.
