This c1936 postcard features the Dionne Quintupletsborn on May 28, 1934, near Callander, Ontario, Canada. The Dionne Quintuplets were the first known quintuplets to survive infancy, an event that captured worldwide attention during the Great Depression.

The identical quintuplet girls were, in order of birth:

1. Yvonne Édouilda Marie Dionne (died 2001)
2. Annette Lillianne Marie Allard (living)
3. Cécile Marie Émilda Langlois (living)
4. Émilie Marie Jeanne Dionne (died 1954)
5. Marie Reine Alma Houle (died 1970)

Shortly after their birth, the quintuplets were placed under the guardianship of the Ontario government and displayed in \"Quintland\", a specially constructed facility where they were viewed by the public. This controversial tourism attraction drew 3,000 visitors daily at its peak and became Ontario\'s biggest tourist draw in the 1930s, even surpassing Niagara Falls in popularity. The quintuplets’ image was widely used in advertising, postcards, and memorabilia, such as this one, often without adequate compensation or consideration for their well-being.

Each girl had a color and a symbol to mark whatever belonged to her. Annette\'s color was red and her design a maple leaf, Cécile\'s green and a turkey. Émilie had white and a tulip, Marie blue and a teddy bear, and Yvonne pink and a bluebird.
