This is a rare Point-of-Sale / Retail Advertising Display of the 1888 Histories of Generals tobacco cards.
In 1888, tobacconists displayed large chromolithographic wall banners, counter displays, or promotional fans showcasing the series to attract customers.
These were printed on thick single-sided cardboard or heavy paper stock with blank backs so they could be pasted onto shop displays, mounted on cardboard backing, or cut out by store owners.
