•dramatic early leg-of-mutton/gigot sleeves with sculptural fullness at the shoulders and a fitted lower arm
•high standing Victorian collar
•elaborate cascading ruched ruffles create incredible texture and volume through the front
•ornate black passementerie trim accents the collar, front and cuffs
•rows of delicate pintucking through the lower front
•beautifully tailored hourglass silhouette with a sharply defined waist and flared peplum
•exceptional paneled construction through the back, with numerous shaped seams creating the fitted silhouette
•hook + eye closures concealed beneath the elaborate front ruffling
•provenance: acquired from the estate of a family of mycologists (mushroom scientists), where this bodice had been treasured as a family heirloom and passed down through generations for well over a century.|i n f o|

There are minor scattered signs of age and wear to the exterior, including a small hole/worn areas and minor separations as shown in the photographs.
