1950s SIGNED PAINTING LOS ANGELES YOUNG CHICANO MEXICAN MAN SMOKING CIGARETTE For Sale

Original 1950s mid century modern artist signed airbrush painting of a handsome young Chicano or Mexican man smoking a cigarette.This painting is airbrush on paper with paper measurements of 24\" by 20\".It resides in it\'s original wood frame with overall measurements of 26 1/2\" by 22 1/2\'.Signed very lightly in red lower right illegibly but something like: H PHYLLIS, approximately.The young man is impossibly handsome in his sombrero with red chin strap and cigarette loosely hanging from the right side of his mouth.Note the saguaro cactus over his shoulder and sombrero.I took this apart so you can see it is in lively original condition with the paper loose and not glued down or cut or in tatters.I replaced the old cardboard backing with new acid free foamcore.The glass was missing so replaced with new 1/8\" clear plastic which ships safer than glass.This painting has been well cared for and is in very good vintage condition.The little light water spot on his nose is artist applied and not damage.Back of wood frame retains original paper label from LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA.Los Angeles artists produced lots of airbrush paintings in the 1950s but I have never seen one this hip, this HOT! Or this casually gorgeous.Not dated but dates to the late 1940s or early 1950s.Ready to hang. Competently shipped.
