Bound in the original blind-stamped brown cloth with gilt horse vignette to the spine. Binding remains sound and complete with moderate rubbing and wear to the extremities, most notably at the spine ends and corners. Pages are generally clean with scattered foxing and light age toning consistent with the book’s age. Contemporary gift inscription to the front free endpaper. The engraved illustrations are well preserved and make this an attractive copy for collectors of veterinary medicine, equestrian history, agriculture, or 19th-century Americana.
