Antique 1891 Family Bible, Gustave Dore Illustrations, Genealogy Record For Sale

I picked this up expecting an old Bible and found a complete family history inside. This is a massive 1891 pictorial family Bible, over 1,000 pages, illustrated throughout including at least 8 plates signed by Gustave Dore (Goliath Slain by David, The Crucifixion, Christ in the Garden, and more), plus additional period engravings, full color fold out maps of Palestine and Jerusalem, a Scripture Names dictionary, and a full Parables section.What really sets this Bible apart is the family record. The Marriages, Births, and Deaths pages are fully filled out, starting with the original Holy Matrimony certificate for Warren G. Townsend and Leona E. Hageman, married November 15, 1886 in Ainsworth, Nebraska. Their children’s births are recorded through the early 1900s, and the record continues under the Krauss family starting in 1931 all the way through 1976, including a grandson born in Berlin, Germany. Two full family histories, handwritten across nearly 90 years.Also included is a 1933 Pioneer Day ribbon from Ainsworth, Nebraska, tied to the same family.Condition: this Bible is 134 years old and shows real wear from actual use.
