A fine oil painting on canvas of a wild boar hunt done by a follower of Dutch old master Frans Snyders. It is very well rendered and the details are amazing, the landscape scene comes to life as two men and their dogs fight off the wild boar!It dates likely to the 18th century and certainly no later than early 19th century, canvas is old based on its production technique.It has been properly restored at some point in the past showing evidence that it has been cleaned, having a few small scattered areas of in painting, evidence of it being remounted to a 19th century stretcher, etc. Overall it is in very good condition for age with some light toning, scattered craquelure, a few very small spots of paint loss/marks, etc. It is ready for your favorite frame or hang as is, it looks wonderful either way!
