Antique Patent No 352 Iron Horse Saddle Frame Military Equestrian Tack 1900s \"R For Sale

Unusual antique patent-marked iron horse saddle frame / saddle tree, featuring heavy riveted metal construction and an interesting early equestrian engineering design.

The frame is constructed almost entirely from formed iron/steel, with long perforated side plates, substantial curved front and rear arches, riveted reinforcement brackets, adjustable strap sections, metal buckles and rectangular hanging loops. Numerous circular perforations along the side sections appear to provide adjustment points while also reducing the overall weight of the structure.

Most importantly, the frame retains an original stamped “PATENT No 352” marking. Additional stamped lettering is present near the patent number but is partly obscured by heavy oxidation and cannot be confidently identified from the surviving surface.

The saddle measures approximately 25 inches long × 12 inches wide × 9 inches tall, making it an impressive display-size piece.

The original leather, padding, upholstery or other components that may once have accompanied the metal framework are not present. It is therefore being offered as an incomplete antique saddle frame/tree in as-found condition, rather than as a complete or usable riding saddle.
