Highly collectible antique Royal Nishiki Nippon twin-handled rectangular vase dating to approximately 1906–1921. The hand-painted design features a detailed hawk perched among flowering branches, accented with extensive raised moriage beading and gold gilding. Its matte airbrushed background shifts from deep gray to soft pink, with a delicate shadow-leaf design on the reverse. The base bears the green circular Royal Nishiki Nippon mark, hand-painted numbers 211/1958 and the words Hand Painted.
Measures approximately 12 1/2 inches tall, 7 1/4 inches wide from handle to handle and 4 1/4 by 3 1/2 inches across the opening. Base measures 5 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches.
Good antique condition with allover glaze crazing and age-related wear. A stable hairline extends downward from the inside rim near one handle attachment and is faintly visible on the exterior upon close inspection. Small areas of missing enamel are present on the hawk’s beak, crown feather, wing tip and lower tail feather. Additional wear includes gold and paint loss on the handles, small areas of paint loss along the back lower corners, and some interior staining. No large breaks, missing sections or repairs. The vase remains stable and displays beautifully.
