Antique Russian Inlaid Pique Wood Page Turner Imperial Romanov 1800-1840 Beautiful! Russia
This a lovely example of Russian inlaid solid pure silver and bone work pique on wood from the Romanov Imperial era. From the early 1800's. The round "dot" pique is on the top and bottom and also on the sides. The small "dots" go totally aound the side of the handle . The "dots" blend to make lines on the top and bottom. Thin lines of silver inlay are inside the pear shapped designs.
Incredible hand done work! Amazing!
We could not identify the Russian wood. Used to turn pages in a book which could be very large, and later as a letter opener.
9.5" long and 1" wide
Sadly some damage on the handle. See the pictures for more details as they are part of the description.
