Rare pre-1890 Imperial Russian solid brass samovar produced in Tula by the famous Three Batashev Brothers (Vasily, Alexander, and Pavel). Features a sought-after fluted lobed "melon" body shape.
This early production piece predates the later "Heirs of V.S. Batashev" firm and bears crisp, authentic hand-stamped exhibition medals on the upper lid rim as well as the 1870 "For Diligence & Art" award seal on the front base pedestal.
Complete with original turned wood handles and top knobs, functioning spigot key assembly, and sturdy square pedestal base. Displays a beautiful polished brass finish with light, natural surface scuffs, tiny dings, and minor patina in the deep lobed crevices consistent with authentic late-19th century age. Heavy, high-quality historical metalwork.
