Striking antique Edwardian Art Nouveau EPNS silver-plated epergne, dating approximately c. 1901–1906.
This elegant centerpiece features three removable trumpet-form flower vases with flowing ruffled rims, supported by an elaborate openwork frame of sweeping vines, tendrils and embossed leaves. The highly organic botanical design is characteristic of the Art Nouveau aesthetic popular during the early Edwardian period.
The frame bears EPNS (Electro Plated Nickel Silver) together with distinctive bird/animal pictorial pseudo-hallmarks. Unlike British sterling silver, EPNS wares generally do not carry the regulated date-letter system that would establish an exact year, so the c. 1901–1906 date should be presented as an approximate period attribution rather than a precisely hallmarked date.
Measurements: approximately 11.5” high × 12” wide.
The three trumpet vases are removable from the sculptural stand. The tall central vase creates a dramatic focal point, while the two smaller angled trumpets give the arrangement its classic epergne silhouette.
Condition: Antique pre-owned condition with age-appropriate surface scratches, tarnish/patina, plating wear and discoloration, including inside the trumpet vases. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition and details.
