It dates stylistically to the Ayutthaya Period (15th-18th Century and was part of a collection that included a buddha head the was labeled Ayutthaya 15th-18th Century. It features a beautifully tapered, pointed crown, stylized crown rim, and elongated earlobes typical of early Thai craftsmanship.

Excellent Provence & Estate History:
This piece stands out significantly from the modern replicas in recent decades.
- This piece was part of a collection purchased from the grandson of the collector. It has been in storage since 1985 when the collector passed. It was wrapped in newspaper from 1985. This was the \"cheap\" part of the collection.
- The collector purchased most of the collection in the 1950\'s and 60\'s. I have several receipts of are purchases from the collector and will include a photo.
- This collection also included a buddha head from the same region and time period that was labeled with a tag that indicated that it was dated 15th-18th Century. This item is also listed.
- The grandson said that many of the old \"cheap\" stuff came from his grandfather\'s travels around the world where he would make his purchases. Those included in this collection are pre-Columbian artifacts, African artifacts and antiques, Asian antiques and lots and lots of paintings and prints.
