The BRONYX Class 4 Armor Plate (Size XL) is a ballistic plate from a Ukrainian manufacturer of professional body armor.
The plate features a standardized \"Shooter\'s Cut\" shape (with beveled upper corners), measures 275 x 355 mm (27.5 x 35.5 cm), and weighs 2.84 kg. It is designed for a chest circumference of 120 cm (±5 cm).
The ballistic element is constructed from a combination of silicon caroffere (SiC) ceramic components and a pressed UHMWPE (Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene) backing. Each composite material serves a specific function upon bullet impact: the ceramic layer acts to shatter the bullet\'s penetrator (typically a heat-treated core), while the UHMWPE backing prevents bullet fragments from penetrating the plate, absorbs the majority of the impact energy, and distributes it evenly.
The plate’s ergonomic, multi-plane curvature (3D multi-curve technology) enhances comfort during daily use by closely following the contours of the chest, ensuring a snug fit against the body and even weight distribution.
The BRONYX Class 4 Armor Plate (Size XL) meets the Class 4 protection standard according to DSTU 8782:2018. Based on tests conducted in a certified laboratory, these armor plates provide protection against 7N6 (5.45x39 PS) and 57-N-231 (7.62x39 PS) bullets, as well as against shrapnel, fragments of various sizes, and ricochets.
Important! If the body armor carrier lacks a shock-absorbing pad between the chest and the armor plate, the manufacturer recommends using a dampener inserted behind the plate within the carrier. This helps reduce back-face deformation caused by high-kinetic-energy projectiles.
