The Model
A 1:18 scale Exoto model issued for Grand Prix Classics of the Lotus-Ford Type 49 as raced by Jo Siffert for Rob Walker Racing. Finished in dark blue with the white nose band, race number 16 on the nose and sidepods, yellow-tinted screen and a driver figure in Siffert’s Swiss-cross helmet. The Cosworth DFV is fully detailed with eight velocity stacks, plug leads and Ford lettering on the cam covers. Firestone-marked tyres and gold-finished front suspension detail. Original Grand Prix Classics / Exoto box and polystyrene inner packaging included.

The Real Car
The Type 49 was Colin Chapman’s 1967 Cosworth DFV car, and the chassis that defined the 3-litre formula. In 1968 Jo Siffert drove Rob Walker’s dark-blue #16 to victory in the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch — the last World Championship win by a genuine privateer team. It remains one of the most popular Lotus 49 subjects with collectors.
