A Japanese cloisonné enameled copper vase from the Meiji period circa 1900, with blossoming cherry branches and a pair of pale blue songbirds against a sky of deep azure. The blue ground sparkles with metallic goldstone or aventurine, finished with a colorful, ornate band at top and bottom.
The vase measures 12\" high × 4½\" wide and weighs 1 lb 9 oz.
There\'s a clearly defined darkened area on the underside, possibly the remnant of an old label or mark.
In excellent antique condition. No damage noted.
