A Beautiful Antique Hardcover Copy of the Lectures On Architecture Vol. 1 by E. Viollet-Le-Duc, Published in 1877, and translated from the French by Benjamin Bucknall. These lectures byViollet-le-Duc set forth his general theory of architecture and methods of construction, which went on to influence the development of modern functional concepts of design.Originally this book was part of the fantastic collection of the Portland Art Museum\'s reference library--which sadly closed a few years ago--that was full of incredible rare and antique art books. The book has lovely gilt and marble end papers, a gilt top-edge, and is full of gorgeous architecture prints. As an ex-library book, it does have a few small markings and signs of wear from age and use (see photos for details).
