Ming-Qing Period Tibetan Silver-Accented Gilt Bronze Seated Buddha Statue 3.7kg For Sale

This Buddha statue was originally worshipped in a local temple. It stands about 30 cm tall and weighs approximately 3.7 kg.

During a time of war and instability, temples often needed to protect what was most valuable. In this case, a small opening was first made at the back of the statue to check the contents inside. Once it was confirmed that sacred items such as precious metals or scriptures were present, the base was fully opened and those items were carefully removed for safekeeping. The gemstones originally set on the statue were also taken at that time.

This was a common and practical decision in difficult times, not an act of damage. What remains today is the statue itself, bearing honest signs of age and use. After fulfilling its religious purpose and enduring a long history, the figure now rests in a quiet and peaceful state, appreciated for its presence, craftsmanship, and story.
