RARE MECHI of London! In The Victoria & Albert Museum! The Maker's Label is still on the inside velvet compartment.
This is a wonderful Antique Victorian Burl (or Walnut~Heavy) Wood vanity box with fitted compartments complete with silver plate lidded jars. Gorgeous green velvet interior in great condition.
It has lower pull out drawer with push button release for jewelry or other personal items. It has Original (I believe) glass jars and boxes with their original stoppers and silver plated lids. There is a brass inlay on top with Monogram. In as found condition~ESTATE SALE!
It has 2 keys (one is smaller and I could not find where it would work). There is a compartment behind the lid that has the piece to keep it secure (someone did not know how to open and broke it off, but it is included. Someone probably took the mirror that was housed there, out. There is one small stain (in last photo) on wood top. One of the larger bottles has a chipped lid and the soap dish also has a chip with glass piece present.
Condition: excellent for age and normal wear. I did not polish the wood.
Measurement: 11 3/8 inches long (29 cm) x 6 1/2 inches high (17cm) x 8 1/2 inches deep (22 cm).
Weight: heavy
