This set of books is numbered 970 of 1,000. These vintage books are in good condition for their age. The deckle Edge of each book has discolored somewhat with age. I saw no writing in these books aside from a name written on one of the end papers.
I believe these books originally had a gilded upper text block. You can see faint remnants of it now in one of the pictures I have taken.
The books have plain, undecorated green front and back covers. Most of these are somewhat worn, and some have some damage. I have taken photos of the damaged areas of the covers, including damage to the spine.
Since these books are almost 125 years old, I handled them with great care. However, I was still able to tell that the binding for each book is stable. And I noticed no unpleasant odors associated with the books.
