Offered is an attractive small vintage Southwest-style pottery olla featuring a rounded globular body, short cylindrical neck, warm buff/tan clay surface, and repeating black geometric linear decoration.
The vessel has a pleasing rounded form with a relatively narrow opening and slightly raised cylindrical neck. The body is decorated with alternating geometric panels consisting of bold nested angular forms and groups of graduated parallel black lines. Horizontal black bands encircle the lower body, while additional linear bands accent the neck and shoulder.
The decoration extends around the entire vessel and has an intentionally simple, graphic quality. The warm natural clay color contrasts nicely with the black linear designs. The exterior has a smooth, lightly polished/burnished appearance with visible handmade irregularities and surface characteristics.
The piece measures approximately 5 inches in diameter by 4-1/2 inches high.
The underside is undecorated and shows remnants/ghosts of what appear to have been previous collection, inventory, or price labels, including circular and rectangular areas. There is also an elongated dark mark or area of discoloration on the underside. These markings are visible in the photographs and have been left undisturbed.
No identifiable artist signature or maker\'s mark has been located.

Pre-owned vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear.
There are scattered scratches, abrasions, small marks, discoloration, and areas of wear to the surface and black decoration. Minor irregularities in the form, rim, surface, and decoration are present and appear consistent with its handmade character.
No major structural crack, large rim chip, or obvious restoration has been observed in our visual examination. However, this is a vintage handmade pottery item and we cannot guarantee that there are no minute imperfections, firing irregularities, hairlines, old repairs, or other condition issues not readily visible in the photographs.
