Vintage Japanese Satsuma Ware Miniature Bud Vase - Hand Painted and SignedProduct Details:
Up for sale or purchase is a beautiful, genuine Japanese Satsuma ware miniature ceramic bud vase. Dating from the early 20th century (Late Meiji, Taisho, or early Showa era, circa 1900 to 1930s), this delicate piece exemplifies classic Japanese export pottery artistry.Artistry and Design:
The vase features a traditional cream-colored, ivory earthenware background covered in a beautiful, fine network of crackle glaze. The hand-painted scene showcases a lovely autumn floral bouquet containing traditional Japanese chrysanthemums (kiku) and pampas grass (susuki), accented by vibrant multi-colored blossoms and hand-brushed metallic gold gilding along the borders, shoulder brocade, and top rim.Signature and Authentication:
The bottom of the vase features an authentic, hand-painted iron-red signature mark. The top characters identify its geographic style heritage as Satsuma, followed by the prefix for a kiln or artist ending in zan (meaning mountain), which is a classic hallmark of master export studio decorators from this era.Item Condition:
