Antique Utagawa Yoshikazu Japanese Woodblock Print – 2 Panels from a Triptych
Original antique Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Yoshikazu (歌川芳員), a pupil of renowned ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi.
This offering includes two adjoining panels from an original three-panel triptych. The composition depicts a historical gathering associated with Yoshitsune and Benkei. The prints feature detailed figures, architecture, landscape elements, Japanese inscriptions, and period publisher/seal markings.
Signed Ichikawa Yoshikazu ga (一川芳員画). Publisher mark Sanoki / Sanoya Kihei (佐野喜) is also present.

Condition: Antique condition with considerable age-related wear. There are folds/creases, edge wear and losses, discoloration/soiling, small tears and other imperfections consistent with age and previous handling/display. The two surviving panels display together as a continuous scene and are being sold together as one lot.
