Up for sale/sale is a highly collectible, authentic 18th-century Dutch Delftware lobed bowl featuring the historic hand-painted underglaze factory mark of De Klaauw (The Claw) on the base. The factory operated in Delft from 1661 to 1840, and pieces bearing this genuine early mark are increasingly difficult for collectors to find.
The bowl features a beautiful, deep-wavy scalloped rim and is hand-painted in a rich cobalt blue underglaze. The central medallion showcases a classic Chinoiserie-inspired scene depicting a stylized garden with mountains, flora, and foliage. The exterior is equally detailed with panel-style floral and foliate motifs.
