Roman Republic silver denarius of Gaius (Caius) Norbanus, of the Norbana family, struck at Rome circa 83 BC.

Reverse: Grain ear at left, fasces with axe at center, and caduceus at right. The fasces represent Roman magistrates’ authority; the caduceus is the staff associated with Mercury.
