SIAM – EARLY KING CHULALONGKORN – COLLECTION PART 1
Attractive collection of 13 early unused Siam stamps from the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), including early issues from the 1880s and the later De La Rue \"SIAM POSTAGE & REVENUE\" issue.
The collection includes several early King Chulalongkorn types as well as the De La Rue issue with 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 and 12 Atts denominations.
Also included is an early red King Chulalongkorn stamp with Siamese surcharge/overprint.
The stamps were carefully arranged according to the Michel catalogue by the previous collector.
Specialist note:
Early Siam is a specialized collecting field with different printings, types, perforations and surcharge varieties. The individual varieties have not been expertized and the lot is therefore offered exactly as shown for specialist examination.
Condition:
Unused / mint. Mixed gum condition. Several stamps retain original gum; others are hinged or have hinge remnants and/or old paper adherences. Some age-related gum toning is present. Fronts and backs are shown.
